HD Contract Terms

I recently picked up a HD dish and a used H20 on ebay. I have Directv service (Non-HD) right now. My question is if I call and activate that HD receiver and service, will Directv automatically sign me up for the two year contract. I ask because I stand a better chance by just calling retentions and going for free stuff if they are going to sign me up for two years. Appreciate any help offered.

Its an upgrade so my understanding is YES youll have the 2 yr comm

Just make sure the H20 receiver you got is not a leased receiver and is able to be reactivated. Sometimes it's not and you will be SOL.
