I did some work and barterd for a Dish Network HD monitor D34EW16

I have a few questions.

First I would like to hook my computer to the tv. The video card has S-Video and DVI out. Could I use either the DVI-D on the back of the tv or one of the aux S-video inputs?

Also since I have cable, how can I set the tv so when I turn it on its already set to the cable source?

Thanks

Tim

If it is a true monitor it has no tuner, so you must connect it to your cablebox to watch cable.

Most monitors stay on the last input when turned off.

I apologize I made a minor mistake, after a little research(34" FLAT SCREEN CRT HDTV MONITOR DISH Network HD34-310) I found out your "monitor" is actually a Television. I know most people usually don't make a distinction but the difference is important. Monitors rarely have speakers and never have tuners.

Now as for hooking up your cable (I assume you mean CATV not Dish) if you only have analog cable (poor you) Hook it to the coax input; if you have QAM (Digital cable) and an external cable box hook it to the direct video input.

As for getting your TV to auto-tune I think your out of luck most TVs don't have that feature
