Hello. Are the HD movies in widescreen on Premium channels, PPV, and On Demand? Which channels has HD widescreen movies? Thanks

All the HD movies will be in there correct aspect ratio (make sure neither your receiver or TV is set to zoom, crop, etc). Yes to widescreen. The channels with the "HD" logo/indicator.

PPV movies are normally in OAR (Original Aspect Ratio). Most of the time this is theatrical widescreen (2.39:1), which means it will be letterboxed even on a widescreen HDTV (theatrical widescreen is much wider than the 16:9 widescreen). On premium channels like HBO/Cinemax/etc, the movies are usually shown cropped to 16:9 so they fill the whole screen, however you lose some real estate off the sides. But you do still see theatrical widescreen occasionally there too, and there are some movies that were actually shot in 4:3, which will show up with black bars on the sides (pillarboxed).

PPV is shown in its OAR. It's up to the director what aspect ratio is used. Current standard theatrical aspect ratios are 1.85:1, 2.35:1, and 2.40:1. TV's aspect ratios are 1.78:1. Showtime, TMC, HDNet, and MGM always show movies in their OAR. HBO does not. Max has shown a few. Starz will once in a while.
