HD on KU?

I'm looking for some news channels on the KU band in HD. I have a Captain 8000HD, I just found Galaxy 10R, thanks to all who helped, and now that I can get tv I'm needing to find some News Channels in HD. I'm in Medford, Oregon and using a 76cm Winegard dish with a Universal LNB. If we don't have a lot of options I do have a QPH-031 if the dish can handle the weight.

Any help would be appreciated

OK, then with the same dish can I get Cband HD news?

For C Band you need a Big Dish - BUD, usually at least 6', most use 8' - 10' and a C Band LNB / LNBF.

Yep, I have found me a 10 footer im eying. there is alot up there on Cband, just don't have place for it until i get a house.

They both have the same mux, although the mux over at 87 degrees will be going away some time soon.

Just not much full time HD for now on free to air. Those that uplink HD programming have to pay for it, thus will scramble their signals and sell subscriptions to recoup. You can find plenty of sports and occasional feeds in hd though, if you're willing to search around a little. PBS has some HD, and during missions (as in NOW) NASA tv has an HD tv channel.

your receiver will only be able to receive dvb-s MPEG 2 and MPEG4 channels... so anything that is dvb-s2 or 4:2:2 or 8psk you will still not be able to get, this accounts for about 1/2 of the HD feeds/channels.
