HD Tivo Question??

I have a "regular" Tivo right now - I think an R10. The guide is dreadfully slow and flipping channels takes entirely too long.

I am considering getting the HD Tivo, but i don't want to if it doesn't move faster.

On a side note, I have an H10 now and can fly through channels. So to go from super fast to watching paint dry is hard.

Can someone with the HD Tivo tell me how quickly it functions?

very slowly!! I don't have a R10 to compare it to, but I have heard it is even slower then that becasue the HD Tivo doesn't get the updates the R10 just got.

It's slow.
Most TiVo users use the "TiVo-style" List Guide and don't channels surf any more.

I know that's little comfort, but those are about the only mitigating factors.

It is slower than the R10 due not only to the fact that it's not running 6.2, but also it's slower as the MPEG2 decoding for hi-def is much more memory and processor intensive.

Thanks guys.... I appreciate it. The new deal everyone is talking about made me think about doing it, but I just would hate to have a machine that works so slowly.
