For those of you who don't know woot.com it is a website that (usually) sells only one product per day.

For today they're selling a Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro Stick HD TV Tuner and Video Editor for $84.99 + $5 shipping.

YMMV, and you need a fast computer for HD, but this might be a worthwhile alternative for some people looking to record HD OTA broadcasts or taking on the road with your laptop.

CDH.

PS - I have no connection with woot.com except having been a customer over the last couple of years. They have been, in my experience, very reliable.

All USB or FireWire TVs with PVR capabilities are only good for viewing they are not good for recording more than 20 minutes of video with audio after that the audio and video is noticeably out of sync. The only external TV capture card system that works is an analog or digital TV tuner box feeding audio and video to a hardware based bidirectional analog and digital video converter with locked audio. The cheapest one you will find is the Canopus ADVC110.
