Hearst/Golf Channel Dispute

I just had Directv installed last month(Long time cabel subscriber) and just found out that our local abc station(owned by Hearst TV) and the golf channel could possibly be taken off on January 1st. With your experince, what are the odds of this actually happening?

Looks like possibly on 12/31 DirecTV may lose Golf Channel due to a dispute with Comcast  Report: DIRECTV May Drop Golf Channel

Right now DirecTV does not carry G4, and for 8 months did not Versus, will Golf channel go away?

From what I've seen in the past, these kind of tactics are just for negotiation purposes.

Golf channel situation doesn't appear to be as serious as the local channel issue is. Enough pressure appears to be present to avoid the loss of that station at this point. The hearst stations are not the only ones set to go up on the 12/31 as well. NBC and I have also now been made aware the FOX affiliates in Spokane and Tri-cities/ Yakima markets are set expire that day as well. FOX affiliates are a new addition to the list. Local stations are ones I'm concerned about.

Just got word form our local Hearst Channel that their dispute with Directv has been resolved. Any word on the The Golf Channel?

No word on the Golf channel, but programing in the guide starting on 12/31 has started to disapear. I'm not sure if this means anything or not.

On my EPG the Golf Channel programming hasnt dissappered yet so they may get a deal done.
