You're typical Southern redneck usually attaches them to words ending in o while changing the o to an e - like "potater" salad or "tomater" soup. However, your transient Southern Asian also likes to swap them with an l - like "Herro clacka!" or "Hory clap! It's the Kru Krux Kran!" But I've only heard the term warsh up here in Ohio and a few times back in Colorado.

But you're right - the northeast keeps throwing those r's away, and the rest of us keep snatching 'em up. :)
