Help battery replacement dsr 922

I need advise on how to replace the battery in the attached photo in my DSR 922. It not like the ones I have seen on the forums.
All ideals, suggestions, etc will be appreciated....

Solder a new battery to the middle part of the wires on the original battery. Then, clip the old battery out above those solder connections. Do NOT remove the old battery first! Just use the same voltage battery. Lithium type preferred.

The unit id will hold for about 15~ seconds on loss of power, but I wouldn't trust that as it's a pure gamble. Leave the old battery in until the new one is soldered in parallel as I said above.
 
I don't doubt what you said about 15 seconds, but have seen reports that say the unit ID will disappear if battery is lost for more than 100ms.

This is why I changed my batteries with power applied.
