I just got a delsat dsr-5500 a dish and a universal lnb. This is my first time to use this kind of equipment I dont know where to start. How to focus of the dish and how to set the del sat DSR-5500. I am okey with the connection. Can somebody help me pls..

First go to this site at Lyngsat to figure out which satellite you want to point your dish at (pay attention to the language). Once you've figured out which satellite you want to point to, then go to DishPointer to find out the pointing information.

For example, I entered Manilla pointing at Agila 2, and it looks like you would need to set the elevation at 56.5 degrees at a compass heading of 119.9 degrees with a skew on your lnb of -58.4 degrees (58.4 degrees clockwise looking at the back of the lnb).

1. If your dish pole is level you can use the degree markings on the dish mount to set the elevation at approximately 56.5 degrees.

2. Once that is set, adjust the skew of the lnb (slightly loosen the mounting bracket and twist it clockwise to approximately 58.4 degrees, then retighten).

3. Now use a compass, rotate the dish until the face is pointing at approximately 120 degrees. Slightly tighten the dish and blindscan at that location. If you are close you can fine tune the azimuth and elevation to find the best signal. If the blind scan doesn't show up any channels, then move the dish slightly right or left and re-scan until you pick up some channels.

Once you have scanned in some channels, compare them to the lists on Lyngsat to see which satellite you are picking up. If you are on the wrong satellite, you can compare to the location on Lyngsat or Dishpointer to see which direction you need to move the dish.
