I have a fortec classic na that uses 1.2 diseqc commands, After wasting 23 bucks on a digiwave 8by1 that uses 1.1 commands, I thought i had better ask someone who is smarter then i the big Q ?What commands will this receiver support? I see a lot of switches that takes 2.0 commands. Iwish these people thats in the business of selling fta rec. would state whether their switches are for fta or not. It sure would be a lot of help for dummies like my self.

I don't have a Fortec Receiver, so I can't help with that. But, I do have a few receivers that handle 1.1 diseqc commands, and they do FTA quite well for me.

The Classic will support Diseqc 1.0, 1.2 & 1.3

Diseqc 1.0 means it will work with a committed switch (4x1 or 2x1 diseqc switch)
Diseqc 1.1 means it will support an uncommitted switch (8x1 or larger)
Diseqc 1.2 means it will control a motor (you set up everything)
Diseqc 1.3 means it has USALS or Go To X

Some 8x1 switches are committed/uncommitted (Emp Centauri is one). Those will work with either Diseqc 1.1 or 1.2. The Digiwave is 1.1 ONLY

My Coolsat & Visionsat will support 1.1

no prob :)

I've done the same thing. Bought a 8x1 before I had the Visionsat....the only other box I have that supports that is the Coolsat...and thats on a motor ;)
