high pitched whine

had a high pitched whine in my stratus from day one. it was plugged into my lighter socket. i tried ground loop isolators etc and did not help. whine was not affected by engine rpm. i bought a 4.5 v dc adaptor from radioshack. they did not have a 5v adaptor nor a tip that would fit the sirius power jack. the A tip was too small and B tip was too big.

i cut the cord off the sirius adaptor and spliced it to the radioshack 4.5v adaptor observing polarity.

my whine sound us gone!!! it was so annoying. if you have the whine this may fix it! it fixed mine . it cost me 22.00 plus 10 minutes.

I am sorry; with XM going downhill quickly, I cannot help but cry every time I listen to it. I did not realize my whining was so loud that you can here it through your radio.
