HNS Readies Vegas Facilities

This week, Hughes Network Systems will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for new facilities in Las Vegas.

HNS said the West Coast Operations center will become an essential site for managing the company's nationwide DirecWAY satellite service. And it will support SpaceWAY, the company's advanced Ka-Band satellite system scheduled for launch next year.

At the end of the third quarter, DirecWAY had about 166,000 residential and SOHO subscribers in North America, HNS said.
