How do I find 1080p movies?

Still getting used to my D* reciever and navigating on demand. I can find a lot of HD movies, but I'm told there are 1080p movies available, however I don't know how to find them.
How do I know the difference between regular HD and 1080p? I've looked through many of the popular rentals, but no indications anywhere of 1080p, unless I'm missing something.

Since 1080p flicks are something they have been advertising quite a bit, you would think it would be super easy to find them or know what is 1080p and what isn't, but I'm not having any luck.

Any tips?

Do a keyword search for 1080p

almost as useful as the previous answer, if you want 1080p watch the movie on Blu-Ray disc.

DirecTV has finally added 1080p to on demand.

Go to channel 1100, select High Def, then there is a 1080p tab.

Keep in mind your TV must support 1080p/24, it will not work wtih 1080p/60.

Movies are $3.99 or $5.99 depending on age. 1080p for most people will need to download a while before watching.

Well they can do the Top Movie thing on your DVR, soI think it is doable. It probably would take a helluva a hard drive though. I do wish they would look into that though. They are missing out on a lot of possible revenue with those who don't have an internet connection. I think there are a lot more than we think that do not have it.

DirecTV has finally added 1080p to on demand.

What does the 24 and 60 in the above reply mean? I'm guessing frames per second, but 24 seems a bit slow to me for a movie.

Yes they are stored on you DVR. Just in a diferent section of your hard drive set aside for D*'s use.

It's not a channel but 30 some different movies you can download on DirecTV on Demand.

What about those people that own a 1080p/24 television (Sony Bravia) and the 1080p doesnt work? (I have found on their own website that 1080p doesnt work with my model==a fairly new and up to date model) Wouldnt you want to fix this issue so it is compatiable with all 1080p/24 tv's?????

You'll just have to not select 1080p as an output resolution on the DirecTV receiver. The question is are the Sony's that aren't working handling the HDMI handshake according to the standards or are they and DirecTV isn't?

Dish has just the 1 1080 P Movie each month so another thing DirecTV outdid.....I might be on the way to DirecTV cuz I love the 1080P VOD!
