How do you make catagory selections in the Channel Selection Menu?

Stupid Question:

How do you select the tabs: ALL SATELLITE, GENRE. PROVIDER, COUNTRY, etc in the Channel Selection Menu? (The menu you get to when you are watching TV and you press OK)

I read the manual, but I missed this somehow...

When the channel list is up hit exit once and it goes up to those tabs to let you choose

Must have hit exit twice hundreds of times from that menu, but never noticed that the tab changes to a button when you hit exit the first time.

Sometimes you have to hit it twice to get in the menu. Depends on how deep you are in the menu.

I learned that with old firmware. When I would be in the channel list and hit OK I always seemed to have to hit exit twice to back out and see my program

Believe or not, I now can't figure out how to add a channel to the favorites list. After selecting the favorites tab, there is an untitled folder. When clicked on, a bubble tip says there's no channel list. I've got tons of channels programmed into the receiver!

When on a channel, hit OK to enter channel select mode, then hit the menu key. Arrow down to the "Add to favorite" selection. Funny, I used to be able to add to favorites, but never get to favorites for the longest time.

I tried that but am still getting "no channel list" message when selecting a favorites folder. I tried creating a new favorites folder and had the same result.

Here is the procedure that I use to create a favorite channel list.

1] While viewing any channel, press the OK button on the remote. Notice that you are presented with a list of up to 16 channels with a header across the top displaying: ALL, SATELLITE, GENRE, PROVIDER, COUNTRY, FTA/CAS and FAV. The channel you were viewing should be outlined in blue.

2] Press the MENU button on the remote and you will be presented with an EDIT list. The options here are: Lock, Skip, Delete, Insert HD Flag, Fixed Interlace On, Rename, Move, Add to Genre, Add to Provider, Add to Country and Add to Favorite. Highlight the "Add to Favorite" option and press OK.

3] A new menu is presented. Whether there is any categories present or not, you will see two options at the button of this new screen. One is NEW (blue button) and the other CLOSE (exit button). Press the NEW or "blue" button on your remote and you will be allowed to enter a name for your user defined favorite list. Type in whatever you please and press OK.

4] A confirmation that a new category has been added will eventually be displayed (or you press OK once more) to speed this along.

5] Now you have created a new personal favorite category, but there should be NO channels within it, yet.

6] Exit out of all the menus and return to watching one of the favorite channels that you wish to add to this fav category group.

7] Press OK on the remote so that you have the same list displayed as in step #1 with the channel outlined in blue.

8] Press the MENU button and select "Add to Favorite" as you did in step #2.

9] Now, instead of "adding a NEW category", you will be adding a channel to the category that you just created, so simply highlight the favorite group category and press OK.

10] No confirmation will be displayed, so you will have to check your work.

11] Exit out of all the menus, then while watching the channel, press OK, then EXIT out of the menus (hit exit twice) or until the "category" selections at the top of the screen can be navigated and highlight "FAV". Press OK and navigate to the category you created to highlight it and press OK.

12] If you did right, the channel you intended to add to that category will be shown there.

You can add more categories by following steps 1-5 or more channels to an existing category by following steps 6-12.

This is a simple process, but a little deceiving at first since the first steps do not add any channels to a favorite list, they only create the category of the favorite list. You have to take a few steps back to actually add the channels to that list once it is created.
