Cable channel subscribers grew for the first time in 8 years last quarter
Sports and YouTube TV played big roles, MoffettNathanson report says.arstechnica.com
Kinda hard to judge anymore seeing Streaming services are being combined with Traditional services as well.
Also, YTTV is a Streaming Service, but they want to count it as otherwise (Hulu Live as well) ... So does YTTV and Hulu Live count as Both ? That would also skew the numbers.
Streaming is, again, still ahead of Combined Broadcast/Cable, for 7 straight months now-Two months into the new Fall TV Season, streaming is still ahead, over Cable and Broadcast Combined-

Nielsen: TV usage skyrockets in November, YouTube share flat

Delivery is not the issue, it is content, since streaming has all the same programming that is on Broadcast/Cable Channels ( for example, CBS on Paramount, FX on Hulu, etc) along with all the streaming shows and movies, people have come to understand, why pay for Cable TV any longer, when you can just receive the programming on the streaming services, along with so much more.I would EXPECT that to happen going forward, until a New delivery system is out.
My reply there, still stands.Delivery is not the issue, it is content, since streaming has all the same programming that is on Broadcast/Cable Channels ( for example, CBS on Paramount, FX on Hulu, etc) along with all the streaming shows and movies, people have come to understand, why pay for Cable TV any longer, when you can just receive the programming on the streaming services, along with so much more.
Does not help, there is less and less new programming on Cable TV every year.
Here is the list, according to Nielsen, Dish Network is not even listed-YouTube TV is Now Larger Than Comcast & Spectrum Combined, According to Nielsen
The Nielsen report, released earlier this month, highlights a pivotal moment where YouTube TV captured 2.39% of total television viewership across the United States during the measured month. This figure alone positions it as the clear leader among pay-TV providers. In stark contrast, Spectrum and Comcast—longstanding behemoths in the cable sector—together accounted for just 2.14% of viewership. Spectrum trailed with 1.57%, while Comcast lagged further behind at 0.64%.

The End of Cable TV: YouTube TV is Now Larger Than Comcast & Spectrum Combined, According to Nielsen | Cord Cutters News
In a move that sparks the end of cable TV’s control of your TV, YouTube TV has emerged as the dominant force in live TV, eclipsing the combined watch time of two of the largest traditional cable providers, Spectrum and Comcast, according to the latest Nielsen data for November 2025. So they're entirely linear services mirroring cable? They should, I would consider them traditional pay TV just with a different method of delivering the content to your TV.
Can't say I understand this data set. Add everything up and I get less than 8% of the "total television viewership". So does this mean that over 92% are not watching linear programming? I'm not seeing this information in the Cordcutters referenced Nielson article. Also are less than .02% watching OTA? Something doesn't make sense. Here is the list, according to Nielsen, Dish Network is not even listed-
- YouTube TV: 2.39%
- Spectrum: 1.57%
- Hulu + Live TV: 1.22%
- DirecTV: 0.90%
- Comcast: 0.64%
- Sling TV: 0.44%
- Fubo: 0.35%
- Philo: 0.20%
- Cox: 0.06%
- Frndly TV: 0.02%
