I did that, but I get to the screen that says DHCP Test Running...Failed. I don't have encryption on my router since I'm out in the country. The device is alternately flash blue/orange.Which means it can't find my wireless router, I think. But it is working. Both my internet radio and wireless laptop are connecting. What next?

Should have read what I typed. I live out in the country. Farm land all around. No houses nearby.
I haven't had any trouble with the 3 or 4 that I have installed. There is a reset button on the adapter, have you tried pressing it or maybe unplug it, do a hard reset on the receiver and try again. sorry I'm not much help but I must have have gotten lucky! 
Call it user error. When it scanned for the network, I forgot to check the box for my router. duh. Once I did that it connected. Now I have another question. Got a message to log onto dish.sling.com and enter a numeric code. Went to that site and could not find a place to enter it. However when I go to DISH Remote Access Login I see my local networks, etc. Did I miss something?
