I just got a FORTTEC STAR 6' Dish. I am trying to get NSS7 but I don't have any idea how to point it, Can anybody help me? Also my LNBF has some numbers on it and I don't know what it does

Look for LOF numbers , your receiver needs you to input those numbers . Most likely 5150 or 5150000 ?

Wyr

I assume the numbers are like 37-43? Thats just designed for the focal length. I always thought it had to be flush with the feedhorn but my LNB sticks out towards the dish a good inch farther than I thought it should be

Give us your zip code for the angle to use when pointing the dish :)

NSS-7 is circularly polarized, and at 22 West. so will need either a true circular feedhorn such as those from ADL, or you might get by with a dielectric plate solution installed into a C-band feedhorn or LNBF. Please note that the signals found on NSS-7 are not especially strong, and even if you have line of sight to this satellite, it may be tricky making a 6 foot antenna work at all. Good luck!

I changed the frequencyin my receiver to 5150 and I was able to get PAS9, now my question is how can I move my dish to point NNS7?

A circular feedhorn would be needed.

I don't realy understand that. Could you explain to me please. I am sorry I am new with this.

What feedhorn do you have now? if you have what most people have a "domestic" feed, it is for linear C-band and Ku-band (if you have a dual band feed)

NSS-7 is circular C-band, so you will need a wideband feed, or since your dish is 2.5' below the recommended size for C-band in North America, you can look for a C-band circular ONLY feed, from ADL there should be less loss.

You can try out a wideband feed like the corotor II plus wideband, though with the size dish you have you may not be able to pick it up, I have a wideband feed though I can't see that far east from my location, so I am not able to test it out, mind you I also have a 10.5'

I have received the 6 channels on transponder # 2 , that was the only channels there. Bolivian channels as I recall. They are not listed as free on Lyngsat, but they were in the clear 1 year ago.
That was with the 6 foot Fortech Star with a ASC-421 LNBF dielectric slab inserted for the circular sat.
I am in NY, you should be ok in MD
