HR-20: Better to leave on or shut off?

Given the internal HDD - not sure what's better for the long term health of the HDD, constantly spinning or muliple daily spin ups...

Even when you hit the power button the hr-20 is still on it never goes off so it doesn't matter. when you "turn it off" your only turning off the lights

The audio and video outputs are also turned off, but the HDD keeps running. Programs can be recorded and the receiver can receive updates.

When you hit the off button, all your telling the HR20 is that "I'm done with you for now, see ya later!"
The HDD always runs waiting for the next assignment......
By the way. It's best for the unit to be at least on a good surge supressor, better yet if it's on a battery backup setup.

Definitely put it on a UPS. I was so tired of the long restarts after a short power outage.

I've got mine setup where itll stay running for at least 30 minutes if the power goes out.
