hr21-700 wont do IR and RF at same time

I just set my receiver to rf mode for better response,but now my IR universal remote cant control it.has anyone found a way around this,getting the receiver to recognize both simultaneously ?

Sorry, but NONE of the HR2x, H2x or R22 receivers can do both at the same time...
