HR2x / R22 CE Release 8/14 v.

We haven't received notes/notification from DirecTV this weekend, but the other site is reporting tonight is just more stability fixes.

Friday 8/14/09 11pm-2:30am ET
Saturday 8/15/09 11pm-2:30am ET

'Other Site' - which site?
Also, does it mention a version number?

And since I'm posting, I might as well post a bug(?) I had (show is over now) 'So You Think You Can Dance' being recorded on both HR20-100s. On the DVR I use most, the hard drive runs at full most of the time and has to auto expire content. On a couple occasions, it would not show that it had recorded the show. It wouldn't list the other DVR's recording or its own recording of it. But, when I went into 'history' I saw that it did indeed record it locally. I could from there click watch and voila, no angry wife. ;-) Probably an MRV issue, but thought I would post info vs just asking a question. I've been not upgrading but I'll cooperate and upgrade this weekend to stay current.

Oh yes, another bug. Enabling the fortune feature(?) didn't show up in the menu until a week or so later. Now when I select it, I see a choice for fortune 8/12 but when I select that, nothing.

thanks
jp

The new releases don't have MRV, as they are preparing for a national release to add double-play (dual buffers). Keep that in mind.

The bug you posted has to be from 3 week old software since you have MRV.

IF you jump back in tonight, you WILL lose your MRV until it comes back into the datastream.

Your choice.

I just got off the phone with DirecTV about that very question Michael.

First off tonight's HR20 CE has nothing extra under the hood I am being told that the "An unrivaled rivalry south of the hood" comment in the release notes at the other site was put in by the staff there and are not the notes from DirecTV. It looks like they are trying to get people excited for tonights release when in reality its just a national canidate release that needs some more testing.

Looks like I will be headed up to DirecTV in the next few weeks in New York for some meetings with DirecTV. STAY TUNED. :D

Just got another call from DirecTV confirming what I posted above. Nothing new in tonights HR release, anyone telling you otherwise is full of s*!t. :)

Here are the OFFICIAL release notes from DirecTV...

Not the made up ones from the other site. ;)

The build number will no longer be a part of this email to avoid last week's confusion. =)

Some dumb questions, this is only my 2nd week with D* installed:
Will I lose my recordings(not timers) when I update?
When it says Guide speed is improved, is that talking in comparison to the responsiveness and speed of the d12 receivers?

No you should not... not sure on the speed of the D12's have only played with a little. Which receiver's do you have?

You will NOT lose your recordings , provided you click the correct Restart/Reset
Us the ReStart Reciever selection, NOT the Reset Defaults/Everything.

When you ReStart the Recvr' you'll be good.

CE seems pretty rock solid to me except for it taking a couple of seconds for the guide to come up. Once it comes up it is pretty good. HR20-100

No internet connection
R22-100
0x349

No audio Signal Meters Test.

2 seconds to change channels.

3 seconds to change channels when selecting Mix Channels,2 seconds to return to Mix channels using Prev button.

Hesitations while scrolling through guide in IR/RF.

Low signal strength readings 101/4-57-101/12-53.

When changing channels there is a gray screen in between changes, needs to be a black screen.R22s do not have access to change Bar Color.

Caller ID displaying "Unavailable" for Name and Number while Name and Number is displayed OK on my phones.System Test-OK.

When your in single live buffer mode and watch two programs on one channel, then when the second program is playing you select Info/More Info/Done.The first program's information is displayed in Info for 5 seconds then it corrects itself to display the second program's information which is the correct information.Workarounds include going in and out of Standby,or first pausing the second watched program then frame advance corrects previous program information issues, also when in DoublePlay swapping tuners corrects previous program information too.

continuing search for issues.......
