hughesnet question

Greg, Everything went smooth with opening a new account rather than upgrading my old equipment. My old account and new account were listed under my telephone number. I was able to cancel old account. The person taking my call didn't know that hughesnet wasn't allowing current users to downgrade from $79.99 to $59.99 plan with an "upgrade" .

Yup. When tech support gets out-sourced, it's usually accompanied with a language barrier. You likely talked to someone who couldn't/wouldn't/didn't differentiate between a hardware upgrade and a plan upgrade. On that subject - if I actually keep this Gen4 past the first 30 days - I'm going to try and "upgrade" my consumer account (outsourced) to a business account (US-based). Outsourced product support has gotten so generally aggravating, that I'm now willing to pay extra for products/services that have US-based support.
