I have been having problems with my roadrunner internet service...a tech came out and basically found no probs. He did replace a splitter down in the basement from the 4-out to a 3-out because I was only using 3 out of my 4 lines.

Ever since then I have had a HUM on my tv, the one that the HD box is connected to.

I did not notice it at all before, and just started to notice after.

So I went down in the basement and re-hooked up the 4-out splitter back. Still have the HUM though.

The HUM goes away as soon as I disconnect the CATV cable from the back of my cable box.

Any idea what might be going on?

Sounds like a ground loop issue - did any of your grounding change? For example disconnecting or connecting a ground block or ground wire, or plugging a box into a different outlet?

Cable box turns itself off

what you you do--problem whe going to cable phone service
