Hi I'm not sure if I post this in the right sub forum
I'm newb trying to setup my satelite dish

I have a problem trying to get the CCTV 1 in
AsiaSat 3S at 105.5°E - LyngSat
I can get most of the (free) tv that's below 500 freq, but never manage to get those above 10,000

anyone got any idea?

thx

receiver make: goldsat GSR-2600

LNB: 5150
Dish: no idea

I'm not sure what you mean by Transponder, if it means the channels, i can get almost all the non encrypted ones
from China Entertainment TV to Geo TV in that list

AsiaSat 3S at 105.5°E - LyngSat

and my dish is static, can't move

AsiaSat 3s
Transponder 2H
Frequency: 3860
Polarity: H (horizontal)
Scan Rate: 26670

Maybe "below 500" was typo in first message.
If you mean "Below 5000" that makes sense.
Your 5150 LNB is for C Band Freq., they only have 4 digits
Do you see the CCTV1 towards the bottom of the Lyngsat page, it has 12511 listed as the Freq.
That is Ku Band(5 digits) You would need a Ku LNB to receive that.
I Googled your receiver and did not find much, so I can't tell you if it can handle the Ku frequency, but getting a Ku LNB is where you should probably start.

It looks to me like you get the C-band channels just fine, but now you're trying to get Ku band, around 12500 Mhz channels, so you need a different lnbf to get those higher channels. For you, a universal lnbf would allow you to get the transponders and channels above the 12000 MHZ point on that bird.
:)

thanks, yeah it was a typo, my bad should be 5000

I can set the LNB to 10750 manually
but when i try to set for CCTV
freq: 12511
pol: H
scan rate: 4340

I couldn't receive anything
did I set the Ku band freq correctly? the option only has one field to enter LNB freq

you need a Universal LNB that goes from 10.7-12.75Ghz

The standards that we use here in North America don't go about 12.2Ghz

When you get the Universal it should be set for Universal 1 with LNB Freq of 9750/10600

I'm sorry but I don't understand how to "get the Universal" is it by setting the LNB freq to somewhere between 10.7-12.75GHZ ?

In the receiver menu there should be an option for a standard or Universal LNB

Set it to Universal if that is an option
