I think with the knowledge I have this means I am screwed as far as indoor goes :(

No, it certainly doesn't mean that. It's *good*, in fact. These three

KDKA-DT 2.1 CBS PITTSBURGH PA 191° 13.0 25
WPGH-DT 53.1 FOX PITTSBURGH PA 188° 12.9 43
WPXI-DT 11.1 NBC PITTSBURGH PA 188° 15.1 48

should be easy. They're certainly within range of indoor antennas and they're in the same direction. If you MUST receive that FMN station, it's not good. The other station is just another FOX Network station.

Worst case you might need to mount the antenna in an attic, for example. That's where mine is located. Radio Shack has a smaller outdoor antenna, model 15-2160, that only costs $24 that might work too. At less than 15 miles, attic-mounting an indoor or outdoor antenna is certainly an option that could work very well.

My attic is not huge and I once tried an outdoor antenna up there but I couldn't get it pointed right and never got anything.

About what size would I need?

Also, out of curiosity, would a HD antenna also help with analog reception?

I show these for you:

Sign ----- Channel ----- Network ----- City/State ----- Heading ----- Freq

KDKA-DT 2.1 CBS PITTSBURGH PA 173° 25
WPXI-DT 11.1 NBC PITTSBURGH PA 172° 48
WPMY-DT 42.1 WB PITTSBURGH PA 169° 42
WPGH-DT 53.1 FOX PITTSBURGH PA 169° 43
WQEX-DT 16.1 HSN PITTSBURGH PA 165° 26
WPCW-DT 49 UPN JEANNETTE PA TBD 165° 49
WQED-DT 13.1 PBS PITTSBURGH PA 165° 38
WTAE-DT 4.1 ABC PITTSBURGH PA 158° 51

I was just going to post "where is your ABC digital station" but charper1 beat me to it with his list. I think the ABC transmitter is not in the same location as the others so it will be important to know what bearing it is on from your specific address (rather than the generic one that charper1 used - you seem to be somewhere east of that).

It looks like everything you want is UHF so the Silver Sensor might be your best bet. The Terk is basically a Silver Sensor with "rabbit ears" for VHF. You might need the amplified version depending on your terrain etc (I think that's the HDTVa).

Terk says their version does UHF and VHF, but the VHF Lo reception (2 - 6) is weak.

The Silver Sensor is UHF only (14 - 69).

Some quality UHF antennas might receive VHF Hi (7 - 13) in addition to the UHF.

I live in Parker, just east of Allen. 40 miles from the antenna farm at Cedar Hills. I have a CM4228 on a tripod in my attic (one-story house). I get all the DFW digital stations with good signal strength, including WFAA which is our only VHF digital station. The CM4228 has good performance in hi-band VHF although it is a UHF antenna. You should not have any problems with this antenna, you are much closer than I am to Cedar Hills.
The antenna is sometimes in stock at Fry's but I got mine on-line from Warren Electronics.
