INHD2 Shutting Down

According to various websites, Indemand will be discontinuing INHD2 on August 1. They will be combining the programming into one channel. It's likely that if your provider uses INHD2 for local HD sports, that either a dedicated channel for that RSN will be created or an HD special events channel.

In Comcast land this could mean room for recent HD channels like UHD and MHD (aka MTV-HD by some).

Hmmm...think reducing to one channel might have any affect on whether one of the sat providers might pick it up?

The sat providers are probably getting a screwing on price, which is probably why they don't have it. (if they'll even sell it to the Sat folks).

Did anyone catch this tidbit from an article on Mark Cuban's new ventures with HDnet (http://www.tvweek.com/article.cms?articleId=30180) I found the reference on avsforum:

"INHD2 will soon be significantly scaled back, however. "There are some systems where it may go away, but it's not unilaterally being shut down," said a spokesperson for iN Demand Networks."

So it seems INHD2 may still be alive and well after August 1 for some folks. A recent channel reshuffling announcement from Cox San Diego effective August 3 did not say anything about it's demise, though it's adding A&E HD. Oh boy!

Cable box has guide listings for after Aug 1. So I don't think it is shutting down.
