Input button for tv not working?

Ah I see the problem on the dvd remote the volume buttons are 1 button on the dish the are 2. meaning i cant program that. though i seem to have now lost the ability to use both volumes on dish remote after programming the input button.

Basically - learning the input in TV mode has now somehow left me inable to use both the volume up and down buttons on any mode.

If you follow the instructions to pair the remote with the TV button and you TV, pressing the TV button should activate the volume.

I did that, im having to now back track and refix what got screwed up in the learning and reprogram the dish remote

reprogrammed the dish remote so i could get volume

redid the learning process so i could get the input button to work again

yet again, input works and volume along with up and down, and a couple of other buttons no longer work

Dish Programmed to control everything but input




Step 1: Press TV
Step 2: Press Recall
Step 3: Press Record
Step 4: Point DVD player remote at dish remote
Step 5: Press input on dish remote
Step 6: Press input on dvd remote
Step 7: Press TV


end result:


Input works, Volume doesn't work in any mode,
up and down doesn't work in any mode


Can't go through all of the steps again for up and down,
as on the insignia RCA remote volume is 1 button not 2 like on
dish remote.

I'm guessing that one button has 2 sides to it, one with an up and the other with a down? Either way the button has to be able to differentiate when you are wanting to go up or down so it should still work.
