Here are pics of my ghetto fan install. I salvaged a fan out of my old pc power supply. I tapped the power jumper that goes from the power supply board to the dvb s2 8psk tune card. The yellow and black are +12vdc. I don't know if the powe supply has enough extra amperage to run the fan and the rest of the receiver? So far so good the fan pulls 0.17A. Here are pics. The fan is blowing air into the unit blowing almost on top of the CPU heat sink. The air then finds it way out the rest of the vent holes. Fan is quiet.

Quiet is good - :up
Looks like you suck in the top of the box through the existing vent cut-outs.
That keeps out the occasional mouse. -

And I've used hot-melt glue or caulking for a number of assembly procedures.
Really like it.
The more flexible stuff works well for vibration isolation.

Should make a difference.
Were you having any trouble before the fan mod?

Not really having problems but the box locks up occasionally - not sure if it's heat related? I am just hoping this makes the receiver live longer being cooler. I used clear rtv silicone to adhere the fan. It shouldn't go anywhere

I have use a few different types for fan cooling as well. All seem to work well, but I did not really find any difference in the way it operates.
I just turn the power switch off at the front when I do use it (overnight etc...).
