that i'm 67 miles fr the nearest ota hd antenna and that getting the network locals is going to be tricky. i'm also in a very low lying area at sea level. the guy seems to really know his stuff. he going to try to talk voom into authorizing a preamp and a large mast mounted antenna. like i said the installer seems on the ball. if i cant get a good picture on the locals then i'll have to cancel voom. what do you guys think? thanks.

67 miles is quite a long distance. The stealth won't do it. You might need a larger antenna with a range of 70 miles and pre-amplifier. So be realistic about OTA in your area. It might not be possible.

Also you should got o antennaweb.org just to make sure your installer is correct about the distance. Sounds like he knows what he is talking about but you never know.

You will need to have the antenna outside as high as possible. I currently using a Channelmaster 4228 which is a long range directional anntenna (60+ miles). I requested that Voom upgrade me to this type and they did. However, you will need to go to antenna.org to find out which antenna is required in your area. this is what Installer's Inc uses to determine which antenna you will need along with amps or preamps.

It depends upon the positioning of the towers as well. If you are all UHF then go with the 8-bay if the towers are in line.
