I just received a note from DirectTV

"Congratulations. You now have a new DirectTv Interactive Receiver, another great way to enhance your DIRECTV experience. To show our appreciation for your decision, we've enclosed a complimentary channel lineup to help make it easier to find all your favorites.

Ect ect.

The funny thing I didn't get a new receiver. I called DIRECTV and they want me to buy a new receiver  Nice Marketing....

Since I have an old HTL-HD and HD OTA, what is an Interactive Receiver?

The interactive receivers features are whimsical at best. They allow you to switch audio streams on the mix channels (newsmix 102 sports/kids) and some other fairly minor doodads. 5 day forecast, horoscopes, lottery numbers. I don't know anyone who actually use the active channel features.

None of the HD receivers are currently interactive, except for the recently released HR20 (the new MPEG4 HD DVR), but that isn't widely available yet.

Aside from that, the D10, D11, and the R15 are the only interactive receivers at the moment.
