If they'd drop the 1080p VOD cost a few bucks, they'd have my in home movie business. Hard to beat Redbox blu-rays at $1.65.

If they'd drop them to $3.99, I might would drive past the Redbox.

He seems realistic about 3D and glad he believes it's not the same as hd. Please don't take your eye off of the hd ball Direct.:)

MCN: You´re offering about 200 HD channels, you´re rolling out allhome DVRs and you´ve just launched a 3D channel. What´s left?
MW: I think we´re just scratching the surface on 3D. That´s just beginning, really, and I think that will continue to grow in the years ahead, but it´s in its infancy right now. That´s not to say I think it´s the same as HD - I don´t believe it is - but I certainly think that´s an opportunity.

I'll have to read up on it tomorrow, but the last time a pepsi exec took charge of a technology company offering products and services, it didnt go particularly well.

Its a totally different business. Selling sugar water to people where the advertising and image are about the only real differences. This might explain for the change in the tone of the advertisements to "those other guys are liars!!!".
