18" is limited with FTA ,but what about a 36" x 18" Direct TV international (linear/oval) dish for something like G10. Anyone had any experience with with a dish that size for FTA.

There is a thread in the main area about a 36x20 and it will work pretty good. I used one for G10 and had semi-decent results. It did go out quciker than a 30" round dish but still held up good

I used one for a couple of months.
It was workable - but only just, for G10.
the 2 'awkward' TPs - 11720 V & 11800 V
would fade to pixellation threshold (around 30% Q) at times.
Worked fine for T5 (G25).

I since replaced it with a primestar 40x30 and those G10 TPs are 50%+

What's interesting is that the linear (Eagle aspen) LNB on the DTV has a flange mount feedhorn - which can be mated nicely with the primestar feedhorn - so you can use 13V/18V polarity switching.

I think I will have to go with something else. Those 2 tp's are the ones that i wanted and ontop of the dish size i have about a 200' cable run to deal with, so im sure that will have an effect on the quality also. Unless the price is right then I might just use it for KUIL (AMC4). I just need something at the cottage. We get absolutly no recption back in the woods.
