internet with HR 21 same as HR 20?

I have an external internet connection for the HR 20 I was sent an HR 21 to replace it so I could get 3D (asked for HR 24 wouldn't give it) Do I need to keep the external internet connector thing or does this model have it internal?

What external connection? Are you talking about the DECA? If so, yes you need it. The HR24 is the only dvr with it built in.
