Is DIRECTV Readying a Major Streaming Offer?

DirecTV now streams in-home via wifi over 100 networks (live programming). They allow some of it out-of-home and have plans to expand that as well.

It is likely they will offer a streaming only service to tap a new customer base featuring much of those same networks, combined with their on-demand portfolio as well.
It won't rival Netflix out of the gate, and will likely cost significantly more than $8/mo, but they also have a diverse, more traditional content.

I think of it like this - in a few more years we may find that a combination of services (or one company that acquires a few of these) like Netflix, Aereo (OTA), and a Directv/Dish/Comcast streaming type product may be common among cable cutters. We'll find people spending $20-$40/month on TV again. They won't be spending the $100 ARPU the massive companies want, but it is much better than the $0-$10 the cable-cutters are spending today.
