Getting a landline soon and I really want the on screen caller ID.

With all the number portability these days I would think it would not matter if the number it calls from is nowhere near the service address due to the fact that it really don't mean anything anymore.

Now I do assume I need to connect all or none so they don't think I'm account stacking. The living room is going to be a PITA as there is no jack near it, so I'm going to have to install one.

I don't think they care unless you have receivers on one account coming from different numbers/locations, that would be the red flag.

Phone number portability doesn't necessarily cover moving between TV markets.

As jcrandall points out, as long as you aren't stacking different locations, the phone number probably isn't an issue.

ok, thanks, just wanted to be sure there are no known issues.

My market absolutely sucks, CW and MNT are in SD and there is no PBS.
