I have an issue with low transponder levels on particular transponders for the HD satellites.

I have an HR20-100S Directv HD DVR with a slimline 5 LNB dish with a Zinwill multiswitch, part number WB68. I also have two additional non HD receivers that are not having issues. I live in Seattle (I added this as this might explain some of the signal level issues as I understand that they are different in other parts of the country).

This problem is seen on both tuners with nearly identical results. The dish was installed by Directv contractors in August 07. Because of the issues I have been having, I had another Directv contractor show up last month and supposedly fixed it but the issue returned.

Using the Satelliteguys.US Directv10 Channel to Transponder Mapping PDF that was updated on 10/18/2007, all the HD channels that are served by the transponders with low signal levels are coming in as grey screens as would be expected.

The question I have is this, is there a detailed schematic from the top of the dish to the splitter. The weather, being the normal rainy windy Seattle weather that it is, does not make it helpful to go up to the roof and start randomly removing cables to try and troubleshoot. I want to be able to go to my room and know exactly which cables to start troubleshooting or replacing. I do not want to call DirecTV again as I will probably be on the phone again trying to talk to someone who knows nothing about the system.

The key is your numbers on 103b since 99b and 103a are spotbeam satellites. Your numbers are a bit low on 103b. After checking all of your connections to make sure they are all okay, I would suggest you get your dish realigned. You don't have any diplexers in your system, do you? They can cause problems with the signals from the new satellites.

I get poor pq on my DLP especially on the Fox HD I live in Los Angeles if I get a realignement with the quality improve at all?

Is this ota or from Directv? Is it really an hd broadcast? Are you using hdmi or component cables? Have you checked all of your connections?
