I wonder if anyone else receiving the Kansas City locals has had trouble with the sound quality on WDAF, channel 4, on *E. Voices are distorted on both the standard and HD versions. All other KC channels are okay.

I haven't noticed the stuttering problem on the SD channel, but the HD channel is very bad. I emailed dishquality@echostar.com the other day, but haven't heard back from them. I suggest you do the same. They will usually respond, and sometimes they even fix the problem!

I received a reply from E* (below). I guess mine was the first complaint they had gotten on this issue. So......Keep those emails coming!

"Thank you for the information on WDAF. We have not been able to find
any other complaints in regards to this issue. We will be looking into
this as we are with all the HD local issues. We are glad that you have
noticing improvements especially on StarzHD. We have been working very
hard on these issues and information like this from customers like you
is very helpful!

I received the same email from echostar, except they said I was the second person to mention the WDAF audio problem. I was kind of amazed they responed so quickly and without a vague message.

I got a follow-up from them today. I had asked them about the (lack of) program info mapping from SD to OTA on 19-1, 19-2, and 29-1. This was their reply:

"Thank you for your recent email. I have forwarded the OTA map-down for
KCWE, KCPT & the PBS-HD to the appropriate Engineering department for
inclusion. Also I have verified that the WDAF issue has been added to
our discrepancy list and is being tracked. We have run into this problem
on a few other HD channels in other cities and have had some success in
eliminating this problem. Our Engineering staff continues to focus on HD
A/V quality issues as we head into the fall season. They have been able
to correct several issues and continue to address new channels/cities
each day. Thank you for your patience."

They make it sound pretty easy, but I'll believe it when I see it! :p

The guide info for KCPT 19-1 was up last night! KCWE 29-1 wasn't, however. I don't really expect to see 19-2 (PBS-HD) anytime soon. They actually ARE doing something, though. I didn't think to check on the WDAF sound situation.

Do you guys get KMOS 6-1 at all? Is that included in your local HD over satellite (I doubt it). Main thing, are you getting guide data for that OTA HD station?
