WOW what a great way to start this season...if the time for questions is over, then why do I have a ton more? like who is in sayid's body, why can the man in black only seem to take over peopls bodies that die off the island, does that mean that jacob can only take over bodies of people who die on the island. Also are we dealing with a alternate universe now? and how in the world did the island get under the water? Again great episode of lost that left me exactly that, lost and wanting more!!!!

I have to agree, they haven't stopped posing more questions than they answer.
If you couldn't tell by my name and avatar I'm a big Lostie, so I love it all.

I'm awfully curious about how the man in black operates too. Everything seems to suggest that when we saw Christian Shepard on the island at different times it was really the man in black manipulating events to achieve his goal of Jacob dead.
The fact that Ilana said someone else had been using Jacob's cabin seemed to further confirm this to me. I'm not 100% on that theory though because I feel there must come a time that Jack will have a reconciliation with his dad.

As far as the whole alternate universe (or whatever it is) is concerned I'm really curious how they will tie it all together, because I don't have a clue right now.
My big question about the whole plane sequence (aside from the island underwater) is where did Desmond go after he was sitting next to Jack and why does Jack look so confused on the plane, as if he remembers things from the island or at least has a sense of deja vu.

I'm guessing we'll have a flashback to the Black Rock era soon, where we will see Richard Alpert chained up on the boat and get some further revelations concerning Jacob and the man in black. I'm really looking forward to it. :D

The hydrogen bomb exploded in 1977, and SPLIT it into 2 PARALLEL time lines. In one, it sunk the island, instead of vaporizing it, and the plane landed in LAX, since the island was no longer there to cause the plane to tear apart.

Sayid's body= "light man/Jacob" most likely. As for what he and the "dark man" (now in Locke's body) is doing, it's called "Backgammon". Simple as that... It came up in an aside, right at the very start of the series in 2004, when Locke tried to teach Michael's son Walt how to play it.. "Two players, two sides. One is light, one is dark... Walt, do you want to know a SECRET?"

YUP, they gave away the entire series on the pilot, and NOBODY realized it then!! Big joke on all of us!

It should also be noted that the "one is light, one is dark." theme was further reinforced in the first season by several other events.

I think many people forgot about this, but in the episode "House of the Rising Sun" there was the accidental discovery of male and female corpses in a cave. Locke named them "Adam and Eve" and one of them was in possession of a bag containing a black stone and a white stone. Jack observed that they must have been dead 40-50 years.
(can't wait to see who these two turn out to be)

Also, in the episode "Raised by Another" Claire has a dream (or nightmare) in which she sees Locke with one eye that is black and one that is white.

I remember last year that several people speculated they were Rose and Bernard, who had disappeared during the time jumps.

I suppose it could be somehow, but since Rose and Bernard were on the island in 1977 it doesn't fit with Jack's estimate of 40-50 years based on the clothing deterioration.

In my opinion, since "Adam and Eve" had the black and white stones it indicates something bigger, something more integral to the main questions surrounding the island.

Uhhh, ok, I'll take this slow for you: it sunk in 1977 in the OTHER Reality where the nuke went off, which is also the reality where the plane landed in 2004 in California!

It didn't sink in the 2007 parallel reality where they are obviously on the island.

2 realities.
2 islands
2 timelines (2004 and 2007 at present)
2 complete copies of people, but living different lives. Kind of confusing, but par for the course with LOST.

Get it now?

Something to keep your brain occupied with while you're digging out from under all this snow we've been having. :D

Maybe keep my mind off the cold. We have been really lucky this year and not gotten much snow at all. Everyone else got a taste of Buffalo style snow.

Hubby has lost all interest in Lost... He hates the way they skip back and forth. Poor man can't handle it. So I usually have to watch it at another time if he is in town. :(

Yeah, let the rest of em' find out what real snow is. :up We've had a typical year for snow here in northwest PA; bad, but not awful.

Too bad about the hubby, I know a couple people who got to feeling the same way. I'm guessing Lost has lost quite a few people due to the story complexity.
Definitely takes a certain breed of person to follow this show to the end...probably a crazy breed. :D

From the preview it looks as though tonight's episode will be a good one, probably better than last week in my opinion. I'm still waiting to see Richard Alpert's flashback, I think it will shed a lot more light on the whole Jacob/man in black thing. It sounds like we're going to see Richard chained up on the Black Rock. That should be interesting.
