I have a Bell Tv account for my cottage in Prince Edward Island. I bring my receivers home to Connecticut but since I moved a few miles into a condo I have a issue with the HD reception. I get a signal in the mid 40's or low 50'son 82 my 91 signal is in the 80's. I am using a Dish 500 pole mounted. Is there a larger dish that has the skew adjustment, say a 75cm? I can only have two pole mounted dishes. I have an Eastern Arc for Dish. This is a larger dish than the 500. Would 1000.2 dish give a stronger signal? This one is for 110,119 and 129. So it should work for 82 and 91. Can I just not connect the 129 LNB or cover it with heavy aluminum foil. Thanks for any suggestion.

You could try a Dish 1000.2 if you wanted and yes cover the 129 LNB if you want. Since the LNB"s are spaced 9 degrees apart that would work
Another option would be a 30" dish and fabricating something for the 2 LNB's to be attached. I used some hose clamps and a piece of wood as a spacer

no it is a coverage issue...82W cuts off sharply..the OP while in PEI has great signal in Conneticut he is outside of the "sweet spot".
I'm in the same coverage ring and a 20" has some reception issues. A larger dish will help in this case. Now will a D1000.2 work better? unknown as nobody really has tried it on Bell.

It appears from the coverage map (I'm assuming this is the map of 82W) that PEI is well inside the boundaries of the hottest contour (54). Connecticut appears to be near the next highest contour (52).

Thank you for the replies. Since my dish is pole mounted I just take my 9242 receiver outside with a small LCD TV. TI use about 15 feet ofRG6 to connect it. I used to live a few miles away high on a hill I very rarely had signal issues. I moved into a condo with hills surround it. I also used to get about 10 OTA stations with an inside antenna and 18 with a outside antenna. I now get none with an inside antenna. I have not tried an outside one yet. I have adjusted the skew in very very fine increments. My signal is better during the day but at night I often lose the signal or the blocking makes watching hockey impossible. Has anyone replaced a Dish 500 with any of the 3 sat larger dishes and noticed a stronger signal? It is just about noon my signal on transponder 7 is 55 and the channel is perfect. I watched 1400 TSN last night it was unwatchable. It's very nice today so I will try one more time to tweak the dish.
the hot contour is the red. Once you get outside of that it does drop off. As noted the OP is in the same ring in CT as I am in MN and tried a 20" for 82W and had issues (low signal and constant dropouts). A larger dish worked. For me it was an old 24" dish I had laying around. Will a D1000 work? Unless someone has tried it in that area (the 2nd ring) we dont know.
Sadly 82W drops off more as you go away from the sweet spot than does other DBS sats
Well it was 62 today so I decided to repoint the dish. It was not plumb so I corrected it. My pole is in a bucket as I tried it in different places in the yard to try to get a stronger signal. I finally buried it next to the Eastern Arc dish that Dish installed. I am going to remove it from the bucket so it will be more stable. Here are the before and after signal strenghts for each satellite.

I have tried searching for a larger dish with a skew adjustment. I could not find one. I called several of the suppliers including the Dish Store Soudoun and others. They don't have one. What brand larger dish has a skew adjustment? Thanks in advance for you help.
most larger dishes dont have skew. When working with those the spacing between 91 & 82 is greater than a 20" dish so you have to fabricate something
Here is my 1.2m dish (yes 4 feet) for Shaw when I had them set up (for 111.1 & 107.3). If you notice the LNB's are spaced apart than what the stock LNB is (the stock LNB they are actually "squished" together.
You could get a larger dish and put 82 at boresight (down the middle) and add 91 off to the side.
