It still seems to have issues with 100 gig discs, I need to look and see if that is one.
Older Mummy with Fraser
Still a fun flick, thought the PQ was pretty good, some scenes looked great.
Bram Stokers Dracula
Looks pretty good at times, really enjoying these older flicks in 4K.
Wasn't overly impressed with the UHD HDR PQ, but I enjoyed the flick. I expected it to be horrible after reading reviews.
Really enjoyed it.
Serenity in progress, dts-x rocks...
Movie was OK, I enjoy them more when Jack Sparrow is not a sidebar character, really have no use for the Turners. PQ was OK, not as good as I would have expected, but I may be getting spoiled. LFE was VERY good.
Close Encounters Directors Cut
Still amazes me these older flicks can have such inky blacks yet the newer movies have this raised black level fetish... Anyways, good use of HDR at times, looked great overall, but some scenes were kinds soft (the way it was shot from my reading).
Prob watch Dark Tower Sunday
Audio and video were really nice. Movie, not quite sure about. Seemed like a joke.
Next: War for the Planet of the Apes
Way to short, should have been setup over a couple of movies or something, but I see they are trying to plan a tv series, so who knows...
Anyways, AQ and PQ were excellent, movie was meh.
Movie won't be for everyone, but it is a wild ride, the driving scenes are pretty cool and the song track rocks.
PQ wasn't the best, but from what I read it was the way it was shot (soft at times and limited use of HDR). Audio really jams.
War of the Planet of the Apes
Good movie, PQ and AQ were great too.
Fun movie, looked pretty good too. Great selection of music.
Finally finished up Planet Earth II.
I liked it, and for the same reasons I can watch fifth element over and over and over again.
Looked great too...
Picked up Ghost in the Shell on a black Friday deal
Video was sharp and deep. A
Audio was the best I've heard A+++
Plot: I fell asleep. C-
Odd movie to rate PQ wise, some shots are soft, skin tones are all over, and there is a haze. Other shots (like during the boat chase) look GREAT. Felt the audio was real good, especially during the chases.
As far as the movie, it dragged, but man it had some funny parts, and the car/boat/foot chases were very good.
She handed me the UHD at Best Buy today, I put it back, will Red Box it instead I think(around here the BD's come with Atmos or dts-x)
redbox is about right. I bought it because I need more UHD and it was $10 for Black Friday.
Realized I did not note what I watched above LOL, it was Hitman's Bodyguard.
