I am using Ubuntu 8.04 with Firefox 3.6 as my os. I had it recently placed on my main computer which is the only one that has a connection for a RS-232 serial port. I have downloaded firmware from various postings by Iceberg for my coolsat 4000 pro, including the original firmware in zip file format along with the loader and a satellite updated list. The problem is when extract these files I dont have a problem but when I try to open or run these files I get an error message such as : could not display folder or file: Can someone tell me whats the problem and how to fix it or proceed in LAYMANS terms as I am not very familiar with Linux.
