Caller calling in who is a DirecTV subscriber. Does not like that DirecTV does not carry his local team and is thinking of canceling DirecTV.

Package per dbstalk.com thread is $10 more than last year from a poster who spoke to a CSR yesterday. I think $169! Not sure if it was confirmed by anyone else.

They are putting all of this "Take it of leave it" in the lap of the cable and satellite companies.

Chase will not confirm or confirm that this is a 700 million dollar deal.

And he will also not say if this number goes down if it is a non exclusive deal.

CNBC is reporting it's a Non-Exclusive deal with MLB for Out-of-Town Games. So Dish and Cable will have the chance to get MLB EI.

Good question, will this month be the only month to get in on the package for Dish or Cable.

The answer is this is for the entire term, so if they dont get a deal done this month then they are locked out for the term.

Bla bla bla......more hd always promised, but very few specifics besides 2008. I don't think we will see any more games in hd this season than we did last year.

From the D* press release:
Additionally, in keeping with MLB's desire to provide as much MLB programming to as many baseball fans as possible, MLB and DIRECTV have agreed to include a provision that allows MLB EXTRA INNINGS to be offered to other incumbents - In Demand and DISH Network - at consistent rates and carriage requirements with a deal to be concluded before the baseball season begins. The provision also requires the incumbents to agree to carriage rights to the MLB Channel proportionally equivalent to DIRECTV's commitment. Should the incumbents decide not to match DIRECTV's commitment, the MLB EXTRA INNINGS package will be exclusive to DIRECTV. All out of market games continue to be available on MLB.com
