I live in the LA area and would like to get the east coast feeds of CBS NBC
ABC I called DTV cs and was told that because I get the LA locals I cannot get the east coast locals. Strange because a relative I have on the east coast gets both east and west coast locals. Thanks for any help. Ryan79.

It is all based on the DMA and you service address zip code, what affiliate claims your area. It is very possible to live in a "white area" that is deemed not served (or by stong enough signal) and then to be able to get both. BUT be aware it isn't you provider that says no, it is the local affiliate (via the NAB) that reports to the FCC and they tell your provider what rule to follow.
