Looks like Netflix/Warner Bros. is happening. (or maybe not.)

And with streaming, you get that choice, you also no longer have to pay that RSN fee for sports you do not watch, like the NBA/NHL.

I would assume they you paying for YTTV, MLB and the NFL ST, is still a lot cheaper than DirecTV and MLB/NFL and of course, the RSN fee.
Its not a Lot different
With D* I paid $150 for MLB EI, same with YTTV might have been $189 actually.
If I bought the Tigers, with D*, that would be the RSN Fee witch is now, latest what $19.99 which is the same as what I had to pay for Detroit Sports Net ...
Drawback is I would typically by the sport for the Season and pay a bit less, they wanted $189 for the whole year (YTTV) ... which included the Red Wings, which I wouldn't pay for anymore.
Thru D* that was all part of the RSN ... ($19.99)

With D*, if I wanted the Local MLB Games, for that $19.99 I got not only the Tigers, but the Reds and the Indians and Red Wings ... for that same price ... With YTTV, if I want the Reds and Indians and Tigers, they are $20 EACH per Month. Or $100 per year each.

So, theres advantages and disadvantages.

Remember when Streamers said, Yeah, this is cheaper and we don't have to pay for Sports .....

That didn't last long.

I'm still saying it. You don't need everything. Once you understand and accept that, it all changes.

Stop trying to reconstruct your Dish or DirecTV package. Pay for what's worth paying for and move on from the rest.
The prices will rise and we will be right back to square one soon enough.

This has been the claim for a decade now - it hasn't happened yet. I'll worry about it when it gets here and speak with my wallet. It's not hard. The big difference is regardless of my programming options I'm not paying all sorts of extra fees for a middle-man, and with a couple clicks it's all shut off or spun back up as my needs change.

This is why I'll never be back to square one. $37 in fees, before RSN. And I have 4 more rooms with access to all of my programming than the account below:

March 2027 trial date set.

So that'll be around $1b in fees Paramount will owe WB between now and then, and another $7b if they can't get the deal done.
Except Governor Gavin Newsom is look to settle out of court.

In a Friday report, sources told the WSJ that Newsom has said if the merger is blocked due to the lawsuit, state employment will suffer. The outlet also notes that "Newsom's office has encouraged Attorney General Rob Bonta's office, which has independent authority to file such suits, to find a resolution out of court."

Makes sense, there's now a real cost to the litigation now that there is a trial date so they have leverage to extract concessions.

I say it won't happen. By the time the trial is over they will owe for a couple or three quarters and then have to pay that $7 billion break up fee is going to hurt Paramount. Couldn't happen to a more deserving company in my opinion. :smug

Gov. Newsome has no power over the A.G. of California or the other states that are in this lawsuit. A.G. Bonta is independent in his decisions. Don't know why he is trying to help Paramount in this take over of Warner Discovery. But he should butt out.
