Seems i've lost HBO & HBO2 along with few other channels all on TP20 on 129W , I checked switch and I get signal on that TP so maybe an uplink issue, had lost 107 Comedy and other channels but those came back.

I'll wait until AM hopefully it comes back.

Update: 12:20am PDT April 13/23

Seems it's back up now, maybe this had to do with MPEG2 removals???

Do you think this is going to be permanent? I do a lot of 'boondock' camping (211/Welcome Pack) and I like the idea of going back to a D500.

Seems to me Dish should be putting out an announcement about this.

The general thought behind the changes was "if you're installed with 129, you likely have 110 and 119. If you are missing 110 or 119 you will need a tech to correct your installation."

If you're missing channels, and an orbital, I would either call for a technician or re-peak your antenna to make sure you have all three orbs.

If you're an EA customer you should be unaffected, but everything that is happening on WA is meant to drive customers to call and get their installations corrected if they are missing an orbital.

I think the idea of eliminating 129 satellite in the matrix is a good idea. My buddy gets his locals for this area on a spotbeam on 129 and it is coming in at 40 on a good sunny day. During the slightest weather it will crap out on his locals. He had DISH come out a while back and repeak the dish and the installer told him that the signal was normal for spotbeams. When I had DISH and had "moved" to Houston on western arc I was getting like 65 on that spotbeam and it was from a city 100 miles from me. But I also changed and went with Eastern arc when it came out back in 2008 I think it was and I didn't have to fool with 129 satellite.

In a possibly related situation. I am missing (very recently):
142 - ESPN News
311 - HBO West
402 - ACC Network
From my 110 / 119 coverage in the US Virgin Islands. We don't get 129 in the Caribbean.

142 and 402, at least the SD channels, were moved to the 129 satellite. 402 in HD has been on the 129 satellite as long as I can remember. I can't comment on HBO West as I don't subscribe to HBO.

i think 110 and 129 are stronger sats at least thats what a dish told me they said 129 west was weaker then the other 2

What do you do when you lose a channel because they moved between satellites?
Some customers will call Dish and be told to schedule an upgrade of their equipment, the shuffling being a gentle but intentional reminder for the holdouts that they are phasing out older receivers.

Does anyone know if they will have any chance of getting locals through 119?
If you are talking about placing locals on a national CONUS beam for use south of the border, then highly unlikely. More and more locals have been moved to spot beams in order to save on bandwidth.

Waay back, Tampa was officially switched from EA to WA as the official install. I lost channels in summer rain fade on EA, once they came and installed the WA that happens far more rarely. And when I do, it's 129 that is the first to go, so the less relied on 129 the better for me.

129 is week on the West coast I can't imagine how bad it is on the East coast. It is a very welcoming move for me. All the RVers and tailgaters will be much happier as well! Maybe HughesNet could now use some of 129. I can see a very streamlined system in the end. Now I would like to see a rearrangement of the channels by content. Years ago it was well arranged but over the years channels have changed and come and gone.
