I recorded Lost to avoide the 20+ minutes of commercials every 4-5 minutes. I noticed the show was jerky, as if they cut every 10th frame. Could have been ice on the dish but when I went back and watched a few commercials, they were smooth playing... They didn't cut out frames of the show just to squeeze more commercials in?
