Made the switch!!!!

I was with E for 2 years my contract was up an we were moving. My install was on Saturday an he showed up on time at 2pm. It took him 5 hours to run all new wires place dish an hooked up receivers. I was very very impressed with him an Direct so far. The HD picture quailty from Direct is by far the best improvement I cant believe how much brighter an crystal clear. I so glad i made the switch im a huge sports guy an im happy i got mlb tv lol an nfl ticket for free this year. Its gonna be tough to not to buy it next year. So thank you Direct for making me happy making the switch....OHHH 1 thing though I like the dishnetwork guide better thats all so far...

Congratulations on your switch. I switched to D* about 2 months ago in order to get their 3D channels. I also love their whole house DVR set up. I hope you enjoy everything !

I didn't get the whole house DVR I have only 2 hd tvs so just 2 rooms I have 3 kids an they only got standard for now still to young an don't care about hd lol

Welcome! HD quality is one thing that I noticed immideatly after I switched from E*. I do miss some of the E* HD channels, like AMC and TruTV, however I like the HD quality of DirecTV and the customer service. What equipment did you get? You might want to look into MRV, it is a really neat feature, and I have been very pleased with it.

on the DVR did they set it up for 30 second skip (immediate) instead of the default 30 slip (which makes it look like you're fast forwarding through the commercials?)

and if you want that "donk" noise thing to be turned off go into menu-settings-setup-audio-sound effects and then turn it off

What kind of equipment (receiver models) did you get. It will make a difference on what you need to set up MRV.
