media share question

sue to my rural location, i dont have access to high speed internet, i tether a cell phone

can i still do a media share?
just need a router?

I would think so, media share works in your LAN so you don't really need Internet. I already have MRV so I don't know if they need to turn it on for media share to work.

so ide need a router and lan setup, no biggy

i have n ot switched to D* yet, just researching things first
i like the idea of meda share, and directvtopc, as well as mrv

If you don't have a home network and just want to interface it to your PC, you can probably do that without a router (you may need to manually set up the IP addresses and subnet mask on both the PC and the DVR).

You don't need to buy a router if you don't have/need one. Just get a cheap switch.
