Quite possibly the fight of the year and DEFINATELY the fight that will bring "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather OUT of retirement IF Cotto wins......

I think Cotto will come back and give us an epic rematch. Love the mexican, puerto rican rivalry in boxing.

GREAT SHOW! Although it got somewhat boring with Cotto running throughout the fight.

HE didn't run....everytime he got cornered, he punched his way out. ANY OTHER welterweight would have been knocked out into next week with the bombs that Cotto landed CONSISTANTLY.....but the major mistake I saw, as well as anyone else that knows anything about boxing, was Cotto's lack of any attack to the body. IF he would have made ANY effort to attack the body, I think it would have been a much different fight. Eveyone knows that Mexican fights are known to have rock solid chins. Why do you think Mayweather has REFUSED to fight this guy....Margarito has been chasing Mayweather his lightweight days.

These guys are all cupcakes compared to when Hagler, Hearns, and Leonard used to dominate the welterweight and middleweight ranks. Hearns and Leonard (both former welterweight champions) would have made short work of both fighters.

Well...Hearns had a glass jaw...so kill that thought. I agree with you Leonard....and Hagler was never a welterweight, he was a middleweight.

Duran and Leonard were my favorite boxers.

Had the pleasure of watching the fight at the Intercontinental Hotel's casino in San Juan. Place was full and people were happy.

BTW, when they played the Puerto Rico "national" anthem, everybody in the casino stopped what they were doing and sang. Even the dealers and the slot players. Any, you know what? Later in the intos when they played the Star Spangled Banner, they did so again.

I love my little island. And when it's time to vote, the WHOLE ISLAND is off to do their civic duty....and they take GREAT PRIDE when the national team of ANY KIND plays in any kind of world tournament.

Ok, maybe i should have said Margarito set the pace the entire fight, he was the aggressor. Better?

He was definately the aggressor and set the pace. But again, no body work...no win....it is THAT simple. I am a strong proponent of going to the body early and often, a lost art in my opinion.

IF Cotto's handlers are as smart as I think they...and NOT bullhead like Tito Trinidad's handlers....in the rematch, after learning their mistakes, it will be a different outcome.
