Missing OTA Channel

HR21 with AM-1

I am not receiving Channel 10-2 KWTX-DT2 Waco, TX. Repeated scanning for OTA channels does not work. Also Channel 10-1 KWTX-DT occasionally disappears and I have to rescan to get it back.

I live in Salado, Texas and receive these channels fine from a TV hooked directly to the antenna.

The AM-21 gets its local channels not according to what is actually out there but what is in D*s database. When it says that it is scanning for channels, it is actually looking up the database for your ZIP Code, not scanning the airwaves.

I am missing a few as well.

What is frustrating, is that mine is intermittent. Sometimes it will pick them up, and then they will disappear. Guess I should just hook up directly to the tv, but I like having the programming information available.

How are the signal strengths for that OTA station?

Remember, not all TV tuners are created equal. I suspect your TV's tuner is better than the one in your AM21. Obviously you are splitting the OTA signal to feed the TV and AM21. Try removing the splitter and feed the AM21 directly as a test.
